All of you damn runners are making me want to try Couch Potato to 5K again.
It’s been hovering around a very pleasant 60 degrees, which seems like a much better way to get into this than a 90 degree NC summer (and the hills of the NC mountains). Maybe I’ll do Day 1 tomorrow after school…any pre-running tips? I get stitches in my side really badly, which is one of the main reasons I haven’t been able to start running on a regular basis.

Focus on your breathing. Inhale for three strides, exhale for three is what I tend to do. Don’t take a breath for every stride though - that’s how I usually end up with stitches/cramps.

Usually I get stitches because I haven’t let my food digest enough. So give yourself at least a couple hours, stretch out your sides, and go!
